On the opening day of the Track and Field Competition of the 16th University Games in Zhejiang Province, ZJWEU’s track and field team secured two gold medals, presenting a remarkable gift to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the university.
Over 2,000 athletes and coaches from 88 universities across the province engaged in the competition.
During the first day’s high jump event, Hu Feng, a student from the College of Geomatics and Municipal Engineering, claimed the championship and set a new university record, securing the first gold medal for ZJWEU. Meanwhile, Yang Xiao, a student from the College of Economics and Management, took first place in the shot put event, securing the second gold medal for ZJWEU.
In recent years, young athletes from ZJWEU have made impressive progress, and consistently achieved outstanding results. They have clinched the top position in the men’s group A team at multiple competitions in Zhejiang Province and the East China region, and have broken numerous records.
